A law firm, founded
in 1943, specializing in business law and established in the heart of
France's foremost Mediterranean city.
Traditions ...
In 1941, a major firm of legal and tax consultants,
the Bureau Francis Lefebvre, decided to open an office in the unoccupied
French zone and chose Marseilles as the site.
An immediate success right from the start, this office
continued to prosper after the Liberation and justified the post-war
founding of a firm named "Francis LEFEBVRE Fiscal Research Consultancy,
Marseilles Office"
Marseilles's economy at that time was still dominated
by the city's traditional activities - the oil-trade, soap-making, ship-repairs,
port traffic and colonial goods - and major local companies, both public
and private, welcomed the assistance of a team of well-informed specialists
able to guild them through the complex legal and fiscal thickets of
these troubled years.
The arrival of Raymond BELNET, a native son, gave
fresh impetus to the firm in 1952, balancing it to meet the economic
changes of the times and encouraging it to develop its interests and
influence through south-east France.
and modern times ...
In the 1970s, following the death of Raymond BELNET,
the decision was made with the full agreement of the Bureau Francis
LEFEBVRE to allow the Marseilles office to develop along its own lines,
tailoring its services to the needs of its specific clientele within
the scope of what was to become a technical partnership with the original
'parent company'.
Renamed Raymond BELNET Fiscal and Legal Research
Consultancy in tribute to the prime mover of its expansion, the firm
still entertains privileged relations of confidence and friendship with
the Bureau Francis LEFEBVRE.
Evolving legislation swept away the statute of Legal
Adviser in 1992, paving the way for a new legal profession and allowing
the Raymond BELNET law firm to satisfy the requirements of clients seeking
a full range of services in all fields of business law, services extending
from consultations to assistance and including representation in claims
arising from business law.
The family firm has expanded over the past decade
to include young partners who now captain a staff of highly-qualified
professionals.
Built on a bedrock of local experience stretching
back to 1943, the Raymond BELNET law firm has an unsurpassed knowledge
of the Marseilles business environment. This experience, coupled with
the firm's enterprising spirit, allows us to look towards the future
with confidence, ready to tackle the new economic challenges confronting
the South of France within the context of its new European dimension.
